Organic Cotton
We grow our own organic cotton together with our partners in nepal. We are proud to support the nepali mountain communities with this project.
Growing cotton organically really does make a difference. The seeds are non-GMO and no pesticides, insecticides, fungicides, etc. are used. The crops are rotated to protect the soil and organic matter retains the water so less is needed. Cornstarch is used in place of toxic wax, safe peroxide instead of chlorine bleach, and fiber reactive dyes, natural dyes, or water-based inks are used for coloring.
WHAT IS ORGANIC COTTON?
Organic cotton is cotton that is produced and certified to organic agricultural standards. Its production sustains the health of soils, ecosystems, and people by using natural methods rather than artificial inputs. Importantly organic cotton farming does not allow the use of toxic chemicals or GMOs (genetically modified organisms). Instead, it combines tradition, innovation, and science to benefit the shared environment and promote a good quality of life for all involved.
